Direct from Jaipur, India, the musicians and dancers of DHOAD Gypsies of Rajasthan, Directed by Rahis Bharti, share a repertoire of song, music and dance from the tradition of the semi-nomadic traveling musicians in Rajasthan. The company has performed, most notably at Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebration in London; for the honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi; for the President of France, François Hollande; and at the birthday party of Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. In 2016, the company won The Fryderyk, Polish Grammy, for “Best Roots Music Album” with their record “Sun Celebration”. They have performed in over 1,100 concerts in 95 countries earning them the title of “The Cultural Ambassadors of Rajasthan”.
