EDUCATION & PROGRAMS ASSISTANT

Position Overview
The Fox’s Education and Programs Assistant is responsible for supporting the planning, development, and delivery of Fox education programs; and providing administrative and operations support for Fox education programs and other special outreach and program initiatives The position supports the Education and Outreach Manager and the full Program team with day-to-day tasks related to research, planning, communications, administration, and implementation of a variety of performing arts education, outreach, and community engagement opportunities at and emerging from events at the Fox Tucson Theatre.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years work experience in education, performing arts education, performing arts management, or related field. Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience. Position is contingent upon ability to pass a background check and obtain an IVP fingerprint clearance card.

Schedule and Start Date
Full-time. Combination of daytime office hours plus periodic evenings and weekends as scheduled to deliver programs. Desired start date no later than December 30, 2024.
Compensation: $17.00 – $20.00/hour; plus generous benefits package

EDUCATION & PROGRAMS ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist in the development of educational content and curricula for education programs conducted by Fox Tucson Theatre, including but not limited to: day camp curriculum; story times; Monsoon Literacy event; family film and family/youth mainstage series enrichment activities; workshops and classes;, supplemental educational activities, resources, and guides connected to school programs; the Curious Conversations adult-enrichment series; and other educational content
• Lead and/or support the delivery of workshops and educational activities—both in schools and at the theatre— as part of Fox education programs
• Assist with the research and curation of KITT programmatic elements, including but not limited to summer camp themes, Monsoon Literacy Celebration content, and potential artists and shows
• Assist with planning and execution of major and minor events and related programs, including logistics, communications, and active participation in the events/programs themselves
• Assist with education program marketing content creation and strategies. Support grassroots communications and promotions efforts to build robust and creative outreach networks that provide greatest access and use of Fox education offerings.
• Serve as primary administrator for education program activities including distribution of sales and marketing information, communications with participants, managing reservation procedures, sharing educational resources, conducting surveys, coordinating transportation processes, and other administrative functions.
• Interface with Fox box office and finance in support of education program payment coordination
• Serve as day of show coordinator for school group arrival/departure logistics in cooperation with other Fox departments
• Provide exceptional customer service to education, outreach, and community engagement program constituents; assist with calendars and coordination; document participation and maintain program data; coordinate surveys and feedback to support accurate tracking, interpretation, and reporting of outcomes
• Assist with the development of AV materials; maintain and acquire program supplies and materials
• Assist with Fox historic tour reservations and scheduling and conduct tours as assigned
• Support Education and Outreach Manager in coordination of teaching and touring artist schedules, content, and communications
• Coordinate appearances of the Fox mascot, Kitt the Fox, including scheduling actors and caring for the costume
• Attend meetings, program planning sessions, and training for the benefit of program service delivery

QUALIFICATIONS
• Enthusiasm for performing arts and performing arts education
• Ability to work with children of varied ages and diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Highly organized, with ability to coordinate and implement projects in a professional manner with both internal and external team members and partners
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with database and/or ticketing software strongly preferred
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks concurrently
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and calm demeanor
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in written and spoken communication formats

ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER

Become a member of our team at an exciting time in the live events industry, and help to grow the impact of downtown Tucson’s one-of-a-kind Crown Jewel.

Position Overview
The Fox’s Assistant Production Manager (APM) is responsible for supporting the safe and successful production and technical execution of events at the Fox Tucson Theatre. The APM assists the Production Manager with managing technical aspects of theatre facilities, equipment, and systems; ensures success of events by performing the technical aspects related to show production; and serves as a venue liaison in an event leadership role for smaller assigned events.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years work experience in performing arts technical production, with proven expertise in stage lighting, pro audio systems, and/or basic video systems. Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in theatre, performance, music production, or related field.

Schedule and Start Date
Full-time. Regular office hours. Desired start date no later than December 30, 2024.
Compensation: $22 – $25/hour; plus generous benefits package

ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist with the oversight and orientation of stagehands (from third party vendors or other sources), supporting the Production Manager to ensure all users are able to safely and efficiently utilize space and equipment.
• Perform load in and out of event and rental equipment; assist audio and lighting as directed; participate in set and equipment changes; and ensure that artist and tour personnel have required items to perform
• Act as a knowledgeable venue point of contact for touring personnel and crews for routine technical matters throughout the course of events
• Operate and care for stage areas and technical equipment in a safe, clean manner; and adhere strictly to Fox policies, safety standards, and legal requirements while supporting other users to do the same
• Under the direction of the Production Manager, interact with facility users (including renters, co-promoters, etc.) in the planning, coordination, and execution of programs, services, and events for assigned shows.
• Serve as show Production Manager for assigned smaller events, including films, lectures, comedy, local productions, and small-scale tours
• Assist Production Manager in maintenance and repair of sound, lighting, and stage equipment
• Maintain and secure house backline, materials, and supplies
• Fill working crew position(s) as stagehand, loader, audio, lighting, video, and/or fly, rigging, etc. as assigned
• Assist with special events operations and in-house production needs, including running basic lighting and audio systems
• Other responsibilities as requested, as part of a positive and productive team pursuing the best for those we serve.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of technical theater and music production best practices in lighting, audio, video, rigging, and digital cinema/video equipment.
• Two years minimum touring or stage production experience, with expertise in stage lighting, pro audio systems, or basic video systems
• Ability to work independently and follow through on projects with minimal direction.
• Ability to read, interpret and implement stage plots, light plots, sound plots, and blueprints.
• Broad understanding of all aspects of technical theater and stage management.
• Ability to resolve problems with diplomacy, and to act decisively in the face of unplanned situations while remaining calm.
• Able to work safely around power tools, on ladders and lifts, and around electricity.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs using proper lifting techniques, and to regularly lift and carry 25 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs; to reach overhead and at/below shoulder level; to push and pull to operate equipment and move heavy objects; to stoop, crawl and access enclosed spaces; and to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work independently and follow through on projects with minimal direction.
• Flexible hours necessary, considerable evenings and weekends required, as well as some early mornings required.

FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER

Position Overview
The Fox Tucson Theatre Front of House Manager is responsible for the courteous, efficient, and safe day-to-day operations of the theatre’s front of house during events, ensuring an exceptional patron experience and an uncompromisingly professional environment. The position works in collaboration with the Audience Services team; the role is both a supervisory as well as hands-on position that builds a positive work environment in which event staff and volunteers are well-trained, confident, empowered, engaged, and eager to please patrons.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years work experience in hospitality, retail, or customer service with experience in performing arts setting strongly preferred, with proven expertise in venue or events based customer service. High school diploma or GED required.

Schedule and Start Date
Full-time. Combination of daytime office hours plus significant evenings and weekends required. Desired start date no later than December 30, 2024.
Compensation: $19.50 – $22/hour; plus generous benefits package

FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Recruit, train, motivate, develop, supervise, and schedule front of house event team members
• Working with other staff and volunteers, provide leadership for volunteer usher program, including training and supervising ushers and supporting recognition and acknowledgement efforts
• Serve as primary liaison with external security and janitorial service providers, communicating scheduling, and issues needing attention
• Monitor and order front of house supplies to ensure necessary stock and materials are available as needed; liaise with suppliers and sales reps; and confirm that procurement of supplies is on the best possible terms; receive and check deliveries to ensure proper documentation and maintain effective inventory control
• Track and adhere to supplies and labor budgets as set by leadership
• Ensure the safety and security of the building, including reviewing, revising, maintaining, and communicating compliance with all security systems and procedures
• Ensure delivery of exceptional levels of customer care before and during events
• Serve as theatre’s ADA access coordinator, maintaining documentation and conducting periodic internal reviews to ensure access needs as requested and required are met
• Work cooperatively with Development, Program, and Rental Events departments to confirm front of house set up arrangements, special needs, and schedules for all events; communicate event set up details to appropriate staff
• Oversee event set up, including crowd control, security, patron warning and informational signage, tables, chairs, linens, remote bars, artist merchandise spaces, etc.
• Coordinate the sales of artist merchandise from advance to end of show close out and reconciliation
• Work with Fox production staff and tour personnel to coordinate show start and intermission protocols
• Ensure professional, on-brand, welcoming, and efficient appearance and presentation of all public areas of the theatre
• Manage event related documentation and communications, including incident and emergency reports, nightly show reports, and other pre and post event information
• Attend meetings as needed for production and/or department operations and communicate necessary information
• Effectively communicate event related information – including know before you go updates – to patrons, community members, partners, promoters, tour management, etc.
• Monitor patron feedback and identify areas for continuous improvement
• Maintain emergency, safety, and operational procedures handbooks and training materials; and ensure staff and volunteers remain up to date with all policies, procedures, and expectations

Qualifications
• Strong leadership ability; minimum 2 years experience in retail, event operations or hospitality industry, preferably in a theatre environment
• Minimum 1 year management/supervisory/leadership experience
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in high-volume, high-pressure situations
• Professional appearance that sets a strong example for other public facing employees
• Exceptional planning, organization, and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with ticketing, venue management, and/or scheduling software
• Knowledge of theatre and/or venue operations principles and practices, including security and emergency procedures, show protocols, accessibility, ticketing
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with ability to build a positive work environment
• Ability to exercise good judgment, make effective and timely decisions, and problem solve with overall goals and objectives in mind
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members, the general public, performing artists and their representatives
• Ability to work professionally and support management decisions in a positive, tactful manner
• Position requires a combination of weekday, nights and weekend shifts
• Position requires walking, stooping, bending, reaching, standing for both short and long periods of time, the occasional lifting of items up to 30 lbs. and the ability to frequently climb and descend stairs. Position also requires hearing to accurately understand information at normal spoken word levels and visual observation for reviewing, checking, preparing, and maintaining written and digital files. Manual dexterity to operate standard office, data entry and other related equipment is required.

Public Contact:
This role is highly visible and interacts with patrons, donors, members, sponsors, volunteers, community-based partners, vendors, and rental clients. Extensive public contact requires that the Front of House Manager maintain professional appearance and possess the ability to deal both tactfully and effectively with individuals and groups on every level, and have the ability to handle problems, guaranteeing the smooth and effective operation of the Theatre and the utmost in customer satisfaction.
