External Relations Associate – Communications Coordinator

Employment Status: Regular full time, 40hrs/week

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Experience Required: Minimum two (2) years professional communications or project management experience required with knowledge in the performing arts industry preferred

Minimum Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience

Department: External Relations

Direct Supervisor: Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Primary Work Location: Theater and office setting

Certification: None

Pay Rate: $19 – $22 hourly + competitive benefits package

 

Job Description

The Fox’s Communications Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day marketing messages, and administrative duties, as it relates to the organization’s calendar of events, rental partner support, and community engagement opportunities, ensuring department timelines are executed in a team-oriented, professional environment. This staff position is an integral position at the Fox Tucson Theatre, collaborating with multiple teams across multiple departments to ensure efficient and effective external communications relating to a variety of campaigns and causes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following with other duties as assigned.

Marketing

  • Manage electronic marketing communications including copywriting, design, and distribution
  • Support education program marketing initiatives, including email communication, promotional collateral management, and event support
  • Serve as point person for marketing services for Fox rental partners

Administrative

  • Basic calendaring for department communications
  • Marquee calendar and content management
  • Confirm accuracy of external content regarding Fox presented activities
  • External online calendar management

Shows & Events

  • Provide exceptional patron service as event day external relations team staff for on-site patron support, parking fulfillment, gift distribution, pre-show activities and other duties as assigned
  • Serve as event staff for Fox special events
  • Facilitate the Fox’s involvement in outside community engagement events and tabling opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be knowledgeable in digital marketing with the ability to learn new programs as necessary. Experience with eblasts and MS Office Suite preferred.
  • Exemplary copywriting and copyediting experience and/or ability
  • Experience managing projects, campaigns, and promotions, exhibiting the knowledge to effectively target the most appropriate audiences
  • Ability to plan, organize, multitask, and implement projects in a professional manner with both internal and external team members and vendors
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in written and spoken communication formats
  • Weekends and evening hours as necessary

Bartenders

Bartenders are responsible for mixing and serving drinks to patrons and upselling concessions and/or merchandise.  Bartenders are also responsible for setting up, cleaning, stocking bars as well as efficiently serving all products in a friendly and timely manner.

Schedule and Start Date: part-time, casual hourly; dependent on event schedule/sign up

Compensation: $13.25/hour + shared tips

Box Office Associates

The Box Office Associate performs sales of tickets and customer service in the Fox Tucson Theatre Box Office.

Schedule and Start Date: part-time, casual hourly; dependent on event schedule/sign up

Compensation: $15.50/hour
