Ready to unleash your inner Charlie Chaplin??

Students will move story concepts into fully realized film productions! Working in small creative teams, campers will refine scripts, storyboard scenes, rehearse, film, and help edit their own original, black-and-white, short, silent movies. With a focus on creative ownership and ensemble collaboration, campers will produce a polished, final film while developing a range of filmmaking (and life!) skills.

On July 17, student movies will debut on the Fox’s historic silver screen with a Hollywood-style red-carpet premiere, including live Wurlitzer theatre organ accompaniment of the films– celebrating students’ work and the magic of silent cinema, just as audiences experienced it a century ago!

Purse Pursuit, by Roly-Poly Productions

In this camp, students will learn:

Visual storytelling and narrative structure
Script development and storyboarding
Expressive physical acting and movement-based performance
Basic cinematography and shot composition
Film production workflow (pre-production through post-production)
Creative problem-solving and artistic decision-making
Collaboration and teamwork in creative settings

Ages: 14-18 (rising 8th-12th grades)
When: M-F, 9AM-4PM, July 6-10, 2026
Cost: $350/student

Where: The Fox Tucson Theatre (17 W Congress St, Tucson) and The Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre in the Historic Y (738 N. 5th Ave., Ste. 131, Tucson)
- Public transportation may be used — under the direct supervision of camp staff — in the event that campers need to visit the other venue on any given day.
Instructors: A joint team of S&S and Fox staff.
- All camp staff from both theatres have educator fingerprint clearance cards from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
