The historic Fox Tucson Theatre enriches the community by providing a venue for extraordinary events and programs that excite, entertain, educate, and engage our whole community. The Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation– incorporated in July of 1999 and formed for the express purpose of returning the theatre to its original status as an iconic cultural venue in Southern Arizona–generates community passion and investment for the past, present, and future of the historic Fox Tucson Theatre.
The Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed out of the citizen’s group known as the Fox Theatre Revival Committee. The Foundation is guided by a professional staff and is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. For further information on the theatre, contact the Foundation office at 520-624-1515.
The Fox Tucson Theatre is a proud member of the following organizations:
Over the years, we have held many other memorable fundraising events, including Oscar Night America, Bollywood at the Fox, and more! We also offer our gratitude to our members and to the community as a whole by hosting regular free or low cost events like our annual Birthday Bash (showing a classic film every April), 2nd Saturdays concerts, lecture series, and more.
The Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation proudly hosts an annual gala every fall whimsically titled “Chasing Rainbows” after the very first film shown at the Fox Theatre over 84 years ago (which featured the classic hit “Happy Days Are Here Again”). Learn more here.
Arizona Gives helps people find, learn about and contribute to the causes they believe in while enabling nonprofits to share their stories and engage the community through a unique online giving platform.
Arizona Gives Day helps raise awareness about Arizona nonprofits and the critical role they play in our communities and state. It inspires people to give generously to nonprofits making our state stronger, creating a thriving community for all.
Every April, the Fox hosts a fun classic film for the whole family to enjoy and which is FREE to our members! After the screening, attendees gather in the lobby to sing “Happy Birthday” to our dear theatre, and then have a piece of birthday cake to take the celebration home!
Since the Fox Tucson Theatre opened, and maybe particularly in the 1950s, when The Fox hosted Tucson’s Mickey Mouse Club, The Fox has always been dedicated to providing exceptional family programming to children of all ages and abilities. We believe that exposing children to the arts enriches their lives and strengthens our community as a whole. Our goal is to make performing arts a vital component of every child’s life in the hopes of sparking a lifelong interest in music, dance, and culture.
The Fox Tucson Theatre is pleased to be able to provide up to $1000 grants to reduce our already subsidized non-profit rentals costs to Tucson-based non-profit groups interested in renting the theatre to put on family-friendly events. Local non-profits which have already benefited from this program include Stories That Soar/Literacy Connects, Tucson Girls Chorus, and Arts Express.
The Tucson Theatre Foundation is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of free and/or reduced price tickets to our family-friendly shows. For information on this program, contact Box Office Manager, Emily Pratt, at #547-3040.
