A $5 Million Leadership Investment in the Fox Tucson’s Future
Hughes Federal Credit Union has made a landmark $5 million commitment as the lead naming partner for the new Hughes Federal Credit Union Event Center at the Fox Tucson.
This is one of the most significant corporate investments in arts and culture in Tucson’s history.
Now, Hughes is challenging others to lead.
Through the Hughes Cornerstone Challenge, a select group of champions will join Hughes by making leadership commitments of $100,000 or more.
Each new Cornerstone commitment stands alongside Hughes’ $5 million, strengthening the campaign, accelerating progress, and moving the project closer to construction.
The Fox Tucson Theatre is a defining cultural anchor for our region bringing people together, enhancing downtown, and expanding opportunity through programs like Kids In The Theatre (KITT). This expansion ensures the Fox remains central to Tucson’s cultural and economic future for generations to come.
With $12.8 million raised toward a $26.6 million goal, this is a pivotal moment.
The next group of leaders will determine what happens next and how quickly.

Hughes Federal Credit Union has deep roots in Southern Arizona, established in 1952, celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2027. It is a member-owned, federal chartered, not-for-profit insured by the NCUA. With more than 190,000 members, every member is a shareholder and not just an account holder. With 320 employees, seven Tucson-area branches, Hughes is a significant Southern Arizona employer, with loan decisions and membership services all handled locally. Nearly anyone in Southern Arizona qualifies for membership with eligibility extending to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Tucson or Pima County; employees of 850+ Select Employer Groups (including the University of Arizona and the State of Arizona); family or household members of existing members; or anyone who makes a $10 donation to a participating local library (Friends of the Oro Valley, Kirk Bear Canyon Library). Hughes continues to invest in the community with more than $2 million given to Pima County libraries, plus $165,000+ awarded to local high school seniors through the Roberta Reeves Memorial Scholarship since 2005, and free financial education delivered through Banzai partnerships across 30+ Southern Arizona schools and nonprofits.
