On August 14 the Fox Theater Tucson is proud to host a sneak preview of the long-awaited documentary film, The Mariachi Miracle.

Since 1964 with the birth of Mariachi Los Changuitos Feos, Tucson has steadily become a better, more cohesive and more prosperous place to live thanks to its youth mariachi and folklórico dance programs, and has sparked a national youth mariachi movement. These vibrant programs have made galloping guitarrones and vihuelas, soulful trumpets, singing violins and rich, powerful voices the zesty soundtrack of change in our community, even as they empower young men and women with the skills to propel their dreams.

Hear from students, parents, teachers, musicians, dancers, administrators, community leaders and more who lived it. Hear from the people who helped move the city from times of segregation to a point of vastly greater opportunity and prosperity for all, and from those who continue to lead what has become one of the most successful arts strategies in American schools across the country.

Here’s your opportunity to see an early version of the film, give your feedback for the final cut and enjoy live performances by some of the best young mariachi and folklórico performers in Tucson today.
