The Fox and the Hound

THE FOX AND THE HOUND,

40th Anniversary!

With Special Family Activities

USA, 1981. 1hr 23 mins.
Producer: Walt Disney Productions
Directors: Ted Berman, Richard Rich, Art Stevens
Cast: Mickey Rooney, Kurt Russell, Pearl Bailey, Sandy Duncan

This beloved family film tells the story of two unlikely friends – a young, orphaned fox named Tod and a hound dog pup named Cooper. As they grow up, their friendship is hampered by their masters and by the fact that they are, by nature, enemies. Copper becomes a strong hunting dog and Tod a wild fox. The pair must overcome their differences to salvage their friendship. This was a first film as feature animators for directors Tim Burton and Brad Bird (among many other animators).

“…chock-full of bouncy songs of an upbeatness that is stickier than Krazy-Glue…”- The New York Times

Family Activities

When you get to the theatre, kids (and kids at heart!) can pick up free crafts and hands-on activities based on the movie and designed to spark valuable explorations of its themes.  Activities include:

  • A make-your-own fortune teller / conversation starter
  • Make-your-own dog and fox headbands that can be created in your seats, along with perspective-taking prompts to use with the headbands after the movie
  • A special appearance by our very own mascot, Kit the Fox

So come early, grab good seats, and enjoy the activities + learning!
