Take a trip back in time to the cool California coast with the co-founder of The Beach Boys, Al Jardine & His Endless Summer Band!
The Beach Boys embodied the sun-kissed dream of California, courtesy of their buoyant surf-rock vibe and heavenly harmonies. Jardine has been a vital component of The Beach Boys legacy and in between the extravaganza reunions (like the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame induction in 1988), Al has been touring all these years with The Beach Boys’ veteran back-up musicians and his son Matt Jardine, who splendidly handles Brian Wilson’s original falsetto vocal parts and keyboards.
On a night where the Fox hopes to channel cool ocean breezes, you’ll hear tales of life as a Beach Boy and how classic songs came to be, while vintage images are projected onscreen.
Dance and sing along to Beach Boy standards like Sloop John B., Wouldn’t It Be Nice, Help Me, Rhonda, Kokomo, and Good Vibrations, while the exceptional four-piece band (whose combined 100-plus years of playing these complex arrangements), deliver a soulful, authentic sound that does the original band proud.
In an interview in 1981, while discussing the roles that various members of the Beach Boys played, Carl Wilson said, “Alan Jardine’s voice is so important in our vocal mix that he is the key to the Beach Boys’ sound.” Forty years on, that voice remains strong, and now it’s out in front of a very satisfying ensemble.
