Thank you to everyone who virtually joined the Fox Tucson Theatre and our media partners KOLD 13, Tucson Local Media/Tucson Weekly, Tucson Lifestyle and all our wonderful locally owned restaurant partners for the first in a series of Friday Nights In concerts.
This Friday, we will showcase the talents of singer/songwriter Gabriel Naïm Amor performing with his band, Amor Deluxe made up of an all-star cast of Tucson musicians: Benjamin Degain (synth, glockenspiel), Thøger Lund (bass), Casey Hadland (drums) and Ben Nisbet (guitar) for the first concert and Tucson music power-couple, singer/songwriter Katie Haverly with multi- instrumentalist Ben Nisbet for the second concert.
Originally from France, jazz artist Gabriel Naïm Amor made Tucson his home starting in the late 1990’s. He has recorded multiple albums including 2005’s Sanguine produced by Joey Burns (of Calexico), The Western Suite and Siesta Songs (2016 Gabriel Naim Amor and John Convertino), and 2018’s Moments Before. Amor’s music is said to transport the listener to a hip comfortable jazz lounge or the perfect summer jazz patio.
Tucson-based singer/songwriter Katie Haverly possess an agile voice of resounding beauty. With tones that range from the golden-age of jazz to folk-pop artists like Rickie Lee Jones and Joni Mitchell, Haverly genre bending vocals only make you appreciate her poetic and introspective lyrics all the more.
Multi-instrumentalist Ben Nisbet simply does not slow down. An avid musician and artistic administrator with such groups as Tucson Symphony Orchestra and St. Andrew’s Bach Society, Ben has spent the last few weeks organizing the Tucson Musician’s COVID19 Relief fund to support out of work gig performers and has currently raised awareness and over $25K with the effort. In his “spare time,” Ben enjoys performing and recording popular and jazz music, appearing regularly with popular Arizona acts such as Ryanhood and Sweet Ghosts, playing both violin and guitar. We are honored he made time for us for the upcoming session of Fox Friday Nights In!
