Groucho is widely considered as one of America’s greatest comedians who influenced so many modern comedians, actors and directors including Seinfeld, Alan Alda and Woody Allen to name a few. From 1950 – 1961, television audiences rediscovered Groucho’s wit on You Bet Your Life, a hit NBC-TV comedy quiz show that he hosted and in 1974, film star Jack Lemmon presented him with a special Academy Award for ‘unequaled brilliant achievements’ to a standing ovation.
