The Fox Tucson Theatre — hailed as the “Crown Jewel” of downtown — is a nationally acclaimed historic theater now evolving into a vibrant performing arts hub in the Southwest, spearheading the downtown’s revitalization and driving economic growth for the city.

If you have tickets to a show, you might as well make a night out of it! Here’s a list of some of our favorite spots within the vicinity of the Fox. Also, these are local spots open late enough for you visit later in the day since most of the shows at the Fox are in the evening.

Parking Options

Downtown revitalization means easy access to parking!

There is an abundance of public parking in the downtown area. Street parking is free after 5 pm and on weekends, and there are also a number of garages and parking lots within easy walking distance of the theatre. The closest lots are Old Pueblo (Congress between Scott and Stone) and La Placita (Stone and Jackson). For your convenience, we have a downloadable map that you can print out and bring with you to find the best parking spots available (the map is provided by the City of Tucson, www.tucsonaz.gov).

Parking Meters

Parking Meters are located throughout the business districts in the Sun Link Streetcar corridor and range from 1/2-hour to 6-hour time limits. All meters are priced at $1.00/hour, and are enforced Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Metered parking spaces are free after 5:00pm on weekdays and all weekend.

All meters in the 4th Avenue business district, University/Main Gate Square areas, and most in Downtown are “smart” meters that accept payments by credit, debit, or Park Smart card.

Taking the Street Car

SunLink, Tucson’s Modern Street Car, is in operation! Its 4-mile route includes stops at The Fox and nearby parking garages, making it easy to park anywhere along the line and get to The Fox. The Street Car connects the University of Arizona, Main Gate Square, 4th Avenue, Downtown Tucson and the westside Mercado area.

Directions from I-10:
Theatre:
  • If you are traveling East on I-10, take the Congress exit, and turn Left.
  • If you are traveling West on I-10, take the Congress exit, and turn Right.
  • Proceed until Congress becomes Broadway Blvd. Turn left on 6th Avenue, then left on Congress heading west to 17 W. Congress.
Administrative Offices:
  • If you are traveling East on I-10, take the Congress exit, and turn Left.
  • If you are traveling West on I-10, take the Congress exit, and turn Right.
  • Proceed one mile to Church. Turn left on Church, proceed 1/8 mile to 30 N. Church (right-hand side of the street)
Directions from Mid-Town:
Theatre:
  • If you are traveling from the Foothills, the east side or midtown, we suggest you go west on either 6th Street or Speedway to Stone Avenue and turn left (or south).
  • Continue on Stone Avenue until you come to the intersection with Congress Street (the Fox Tucson Theatre marquee and blade will be visible on your right).
Administrative Offices:
  • If you are traveling from the Foothills, the east side or midtown, go west on either 6th Street or Speedway to Main Street and turn left or south.
  • Continue on Stone Avenue until you come to the intersection with Congress Street (the Fox Tucson Theatre marquee and blade will be visible on your right).
  • Turn right (or West) on Congress, then right (or North) at the next intersection onto Church. 30 N Church is half-way down the block on your right.

Ticketing and Will Call

The Fox Tucson Theater Box Office generally opens two hours prior to each performance. Each ticket has a unique barcode and only the first scan of the tickets will allow entry into the event. Keep your tickets in a safe place.

Will Call Tickets can be picked up anytime the Box Office is open. If coming to a show, there is no need to pick up your Will Call Tickets in advance – just come to the Will Call window when you arrive for the show, but feel free to give yourself a bit of extra time in case there is a line. Accessibility
